Tuesday is the day of the bigs’ debut. Milano Premier Padel P1 in the ‘Combined’ formula really gets into the swing of things, with the debut of the top seeds and, therefore, of the big names most awaited by the public. Tamara Icardo and Maria Virginia Riera, the No. 5 seed in the women’s draw, will open at 10 a.m. on the Centre Court against Alix Collombon from France and Lorena Rufo Ortiz from Spain. Next up is the return of the 2022 tournament point scorer, ‘Momo’ Gonzalez, paired with Javier Garrido (7). As a third match, here is the Premier Padel debut in Italy of Alejandra Salazar, who had been forced to miss the Rome event last July due to injury (she took part in the draw) and is awaited in Milan paired with Portuguese Sofia Araujo. The number 4 seed will face Marina Martinez Lobo and Sweden’s Carolina Navarro Bjork. Completing the morning session will be Sanyo and Agustin Gutierrez (8).
From 6 p.m., the evening session: to open it, Delfina Brea and Bea Gonzalez, the queens of Madrid and number 3 seed, against Spain’s Beatriz Caldera Sanchez and Portugal’s Ana Catarina Nogueira. Next up is one of the idols of the Allianz Cloud, Paquito Navarro, who with Fede Chingotto starts as the fourth seeded pair. Last year, paired with Juan Tello, Paquito was defeated in the semifinals by Bergamini/Ruiz, but drove the Milan crowd crazy and now, with the Argentinean Chingotto, hopes to go all the way. Completing the programme on Centre Court are the Italian players Giorgia Marchetti and Chiara Pappacena against the Spaniards Barrera/Merino. On court number 1, not to be missed – among others – the debut of Lucas Bergamini and Victor Ruiz, finalists of the last edition. Among the women, on the other hand, watch out for the very young Spaniards Alejandra Alonso and Andrea Ustero, Junior World Champions a few weeks ago in Paraguay.
